The British Council wants to build mutually beneficial relationships and increase awareness of the UK’s creative ideas and achievements. They do this through English language teaching, opportunities in UK education, the promotion of arts and innovation, and the development of professional networks. They also connect people from the UK and Africa, using student exchange programmes, study visits, and cultural events.
Their work is driven by our strong belief in internationalism, a commitment to professionalism, and an enthusiasm for creativity. The British Council believes that cultural relations can help individuals and the world community to thrive. Therefore, they have a special focus on youth. Connecting young people across all cultures, creating genuine mutual trust and understanding, has never been more important.
